The Joyce Foundation's COVID Response
As we all continue to grapple with the unprecedented challenge of COVID-19, the Joyce team has been working to identify ways in which we can best support our grantees and our community during this difficult time.
For our grantees, we have designated $2.5 million to address the COVID-19 crisis, to support rapid response initiatives in the city of Chicago and across the state as well as to provide additional financial support to grantees who are most vulnerable to the economic aftershocks of the crisis. We have also sponsored webinars to help our grantee organizations and their boards navigate the financial and operational challenges posed by COVID. We also published a page of resource page with information on how to apply for loans offered through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
Furthermore, we joined other Chicago funders in launching the Chicago Community COVID-19 Response Fund to support local nonprofits that provide emergency support and services. For more information, see:
To assist nonprofit organizations across the state that are serving individuals, families, and communities hit hardest by the pandemic, we joined in launching the Illinois COVID-19 Response Fund.
As this situation evolves, we will continue to explore more ways to help our grantees weather this crisis. We are heartened by the commitment and incredible stories of our grantees and all nonprofits in our region. Join our email list to receive updates and alerts from us.
